Has a thumb stud, blade hole or other feature to facilitate one-hand use. Some models are one-hand opening and one-hand closing as well.
This steel is ideal for excellent edge retention, great corrosion resistance and for heavy cutting applications. For best performance, we harden to a standard Rc 59-61.
Very strong for heavy duty use. Holds up to piercing, scraping and prying with tough materials. Many tactical knives utilize this blade shape.
I purchased this knife at Smokey Mountain Knifeworks on Nov 16th. Today is Nov 21st and the knife no longer will lock open. I have carried it for less than a full week and opened it and closed it the way the knife store staff instructed me. It seemed like a great knife on day one but 5 days in it is useless because you can't open and have the blade lock like it is supposed to.
This is the mistro of folders. This has no visible blade play up or down, yet it opens uber fast. It's in my hand when I need it and out of the way when I don't. This looks really nice and has a really good trigger guard to help with your fingers sliding. The bos heat treatment is very good I haven't sharpened this thing in months and it still has a razor-sharp edge!
I want to give a shout to Kevin on Buck chat for steering me to this knife. I read the reviews of both the regular Marksman & the Tanto. I decided to take a chance on the Tanto, & I'm glad I did. Yeah, I like the looks of the Tanto, but Kevin's suggestions are what reeled me in; one hand open, & with a little practice, one hand close. And if I have any issues, there's the legendary "FOREVER warranty". Anyway, I sure am liking my Marksman Tanto.
