Custom Knife Priority Builds FAQ
A Custom Knife Priority Build is a handcrafted Buck knife based on a popular configurations from our Custom Knife Shop. Each knife is hand built in advance by a Buck knifemaker, allowing it to ship on the same timeline as our core products without the standard Custom Knife Shop wait. Priority Builds come in nine fixed configurations, can be personalized with engraving, and are backed by Buck’s Forever Warranty.
How is a Priority Build different from a traditional Custom Knife Shop order?
A traditional Custom Knife Shop knife is built after you select your materials and place your order. Priority Builds are offered in nine popular, fixed configurations that have already been handcrafted by a Buck knifemaker, allowing them to ship much sooner.
Can I change the materials on a Priority Build?
No. Each Priority Build has a set combination of blade steel, handle material, hardware, and other features. For more choices, build your own knife through the traditional Custom Knife Shop.
Is a Priority Build still handcrafted?
Yes. Every Priority Build is built by a skilled Buck knifemaker using the same care and standards as our other Custom Knife Shop knives.
Can I have my Priority Build engraved?
Yes. Available engraving options will be shown on each product page. Engraving can add approximately 4 - 6 days to the order’s processing time.
How quickly will my Priority Build ship?
Most non-engraved Priority Build orders ship from Buck within two to four business days. Delivery time after shipment depends on the carrier and shipping method selected at checkout.
Will my knife look exactly like the product photos?
Natural materials such as elk and wood vary in color, grain, and texture. These differences are part of what gives each handcrafted knife its own character.
