Available Features and Options

One Handed Opening

Has a thumb stud, blade hole or other feature to facilitate one-hand use. Some models are one-hand opening and one-hand closing as well.

Modified Tanto

Holding many of same features as the regular tanto blade, the angled point is modified between the front edge and the bottom edge on this particular blade. Holds up to piercing, scraping, and prying with tough materials.

420HC Steel

This is Buck's standard blade material because it approaches the wear resistance of high carbon alloys while delivering the corrosion resistance of chromium stainless steels. Add our exclusive heat-treat process and you have a very user-friendly combination of superior corrosion resistance with excellent strength for wear resistance and durability. You also have a blade that is easy to resharpen. For best performance we harden to a Rockwell hardness of Rc 58.

Serrations give your Buck blade greater cutting power. Especially useful when cutting line and/or cables.

Very well built and easy to carry.

Recently purchased this knife for daily carry. It is very well built, locks open with a super solid lockup, and has a detent that keeps it closed when in the pocket. I was somewhat skeptical of the point up carry at first, but I carry in my right front pocket and this puts the blade to the rear of the pocket (and did I mention the detent that keeps it closed). Very solid build of steel, but lightweight and not too bulky either. Fits my daily carry needs perfectly at a great price point. Highly recommended.

Decent knife

Excellent build. Good quality. Like this knife a whole lot. However it claims to be a one hand operation to open....... Well it is kind of. I certainly wouldn't want to be in a situation where I needed to immediately deploy this knife. I only sometimes can open it one handed. It is very hard to do. My thumb has had all it can take for today, its really sore from trying to open it one handed. I only achieved it a couple of times. The rest of the time the blade won't budge, or it only comes out about an inch at most. There is a sweet spot where it comes allot easier. But it is hard to find consistently. Going to keep working at it. I really want to love this knife........ Want it to be my new EDC blade, but until I can consistently open it without fail it will sit on the sidelines.

Best every day carry knife out there.

I've been an avid outdoorsman (camping, hiking, fishing, crabbing) and sportsman all my life who has lived in some pretty rough neighborhoods. I can tell you that this is the best all-purpose every day carry knife that I own and I've owned one for many years. I always buy a folding knife with a "tactical" clip, which means I can draw it from my waist or pocket, open it and use it with one hand. This knife fills that requirement flawlessly and it carries comfortably in my inside waistband at the small of my back. It stays sharp and the combination of serrated and straight edge lets it take on any role. I'll be shocked if this knife isn't considered a classic and it should remain in production for many years to come.

I work in the pool service business and I carry and use this knife everyday. All the chemicals, parts and equipment like filters, pumps, heaters etc. Come in cardboard wrapped up in thick packing tape. This knife cuts threw the cardboard like butter. Same goes with PVC flex pipe used for the Polaris cleaning systems. I used to have to use a PVC saw to cut the hose but this knife cuts it much faster and cleaner. Buck Knives warranty is also amazing! The thumb knob on my first knife fell out after a couple years of heavy use. I sent it in to Buck Knives warranty to get fixed and they sent me a brand new knife with a 30% off promo code for! They will also re-blade your knife at anytime it only costs around $10! Planning on getting the smaller version next. I highly recommend this knife you won't be disappointed.

Not made in USA!

My friend gave me this knife the other day because he did not like it he reckons the blade does not stay sharp and it is made in China the next day the lock system did not work and the blade wobbled I would like to have it exchanged and this time made in USA.

Nice knife

I like the Bones, nice size, decent blade, good price. Took a little work to loosen up for easy opening. For the price - local stores run a good bit under the $43 MSRP - it's the best EDC knife I've found. My one wish is that Buck would make a drop point version - not a big fan of the tanto blade, especially when it comes time to resharpen it.

My first Buck and I'm happy!

I have over 70 knives and never had a Buck knife before. This is my first Buck Knife and I'm sorry I never looked at Buck knives in the past. It's super easy to open with one hand and because it's so thin it's a great everyday carry knife. It's really solid and the the knife blade has no play when opened. The liner lock pops into place with no problem. My only issue is I see the camo is rubbing off a little. Great knife everall.

Great knife!

I really like this knife because it is very light and easy to carry. Also, the short blade makes it legal to carry in more places. The only complaints I have are that the blade is slightly difficult to open and quite difficult to close, especially with one hand. In addition, it's not very sharp and it's not the best at holding an edge. I would've given it 5/5 because of how much I like it but I have to be fair with the rating.

I bought this knife when i was 15 in boyscouts ... im now 26.

I love this knife. Its been with me for 11 Years. I came to the website to see if it was still being made to buy a second in case i lost this one. Ive seen some complaints about hard opening right after buying it and that may be true but with mine being broken in i can say i have absolutely no trouble opening it. Maybe try loosening the main screw? Mine needs a real good sharpening soon but if im being honest its more for opening boxes and cutting the occasional rope and not fileting fish. Im too lazy to sharpen the straight part of the blade because i can always get through anything with the serrations. Lastly i love the look of this knife and how thin it is. Its probably a 1/3 of an inch thick and clips into my pocket perfectly. I dont even notice it anymore. This is a great knife.
