This is Buck's standard blade material because it approaches the wear resistance of high carbon alloys while delivering the corrosion resistance of chromium stainless steels. Add our exclusive heat-treat process and you have a very user-friendly combination of superior corrosion resistance with excellent strength for wear resistance and durability. You also have a blade that is easy to resharpen. For best performance we harden to a Rockwell hardness of Rc 58.
This blade is full bellied with a strong, thick point for heavier tasks. It can also be used as a general work knife. The top of the blade drops down toward the tip, which minimizes accidental puncturing while skinning. The drop point blade is strong and very versatile.
Exactly what I wanted to add to my camping. When you need a lite and use of a knife. This being fathers day gift.
I have been looking for a good size blade that didn't take up alot of room either on my belt or in my vest. This fit the bill perfectly. I love the feel of it and feel completely confident in it being able to do everything I need. Being close to Post Falls I felt very fortunate to look and play with it before I bought. Great knife great price and it's a Buck!
The usual high quality knife with additional bonus of multi positional sheath. Love the horizontal version. Being an avid hunter and outdoorsmen this is a great addition to my hunting knifes.
A good friend gifted me the knife and its sheath and fire starter whistle. I am impressed with the workmanship of the piece and the micarta handle is nice, indeed. I have sharpened the edge on my Ken Onion Sharpener to a Gothic arch and it is incredibly sharp. One might even boast that one could shave with the shadow! My only reservation is that it would be very nice to have the option of an alternate carry, i.e., to be able to put a pocket clip directly on the knife and avoid the thermoplastic sheath. The knife is good looking enough to be an everyday carry, but not at the bottom of one's pocket where it would get banged up.
