Has a thumb stud, blade hole or other feature to facilitate one-hand use. Some models are one-hand opening and one-hand closing as well..
We consider this the absolute best blade steel available, and it is made in America. S30V contains carbon as well as high amounts of Chromium, Molybdenum and Vanadium. This steel combines fantastic edge retention and high ductility combined with corrosion resistance. Double-tempered - it can be hardened to a Rockwell hardness of Rc 59.5-61. However, it is difficult to resharpen yourself, but we do offer sharpening services for a nominal fee.
This blade is full bellied with a strong, thick point for heavier tasks. It can also be used as a general work knife. The top of the blade drops down toward the tip, which minimizes accidental puncturing while skinning. The drop point blade is strong and very versatile.
When I bought this knife I expected usual knife for good price. But when I unpacked it I realised it's really good quality knife with awesome finish. Flips well looks awesome and cuts like razor. Good job guys!
WOW. Out of the box hair shaving sharp! I have a large select and a small pro that I bought when this series first came out. I was impressed with the revisions... Such as grip on the G10 scales. I really like the milled G10 versus the polished G10 that's came on the pro when they first came out. WOW is this knife sharp, smooth, fast to open, the scales are textured but do not shred your pocket, the clip is awesome. I love this series. This is the BEST value for the BEST blade material. I would have paid double to get an S30v blade from any other manufacturer. Plus it has the Paul Bos heat treatment. AMERICAN MADE! SUPPORT YOUR OWN COUNTRY.
Very good knife. When I purchased this knife I fell in love with it. I laid down my spyderco and I carry this knife everyday. Very sharp!! Easy to resharpen. I own several buck knives and they are the best out there.
Requested this knife as a Christmas gift from my wife. It is the best EDC knife I have... absolutely love the s30v steel. I was a little unsure at first because I heard s30v is difficult to sharpen. I strop this knife after I use it every time I use it and I've not needed to sharpen it... just strop... and not with Diamond compound either... just green and black compound... I believe the green is .05 micron aluminum oxide but I could be wrong. I've cut all kinds of materials with it including industrial carpeting at my office to fix a hole in it. Skinned and fleshed a raccoon with it too.. just strop it when you are done and no need to sharpen. I'm sure at some point I will need to sharpen it. I love this knife.
When I bought his knife I had no idea of its pedigree. It has been a faithful companion and after a bit of TLC tonight I realise what an absolute beauty it is: the design is so cool. Minimalist and perfect. The blade of Vanadium/Chromium is a marriage of beauty and efficiency. I LOVE this special pocket knife and will always carry it around. In fact it is now an heirloom. Thank you Buck from an Englishman!
