Available Features and Options

One Handed Opening

Has a thumb stud, blade hole or other feature to facilitate one-hand use. Some models are one-hand opening and one-hand closing as well.

420HC Steel

This is Buck's standard blade material because it approaches the wear resistance of high carbon alloys while delivering the corrosion resistance of chromium stainless steels. Add our exclusive heat-treat process and you have a very user-friendly combination of superior corrosion resistance with excellent strength for wear resistance and durability. You also have a blade that is easy to resharpen. For best performance we harden to a Rockwell hardness of Rc 58.

Drop Point

This blade is full bellied with a strong, thick point for heavier tasks. It can also be used as a general work knife. The top of the blade drops down toward the tip, which minimizes accidental puncturing while skinning. The drop point blade is strong and very versatile.

Was very skeptical co concerning the quality of this k ife due to the rivet construction and the riveted in pocket clip. I was pleasantly suprised, the long slender blade is excellent for every task I've put it to, being long and slender, it really gets the job done. Have used it very roughly for several months now and still zero blade wobble. Snaps loudly and locks strong. The 420 steel.... Perfect blend. I cut rope on board and apples and onions in the galley. Holds an edge verg long, sharpens easily. I keep it hair popping aharp. Highly recomend this knife. Worth twice what I paid for it. Good job Buck.

its a great knife

i bought this knife to use as my blade for camping and using at scouts. it came really sharp. i resharpened and it has held an edge for the last three months so i need to sharpen it again because i really abuse my knives. it hasnt broke in the 6 months i have had it. the only problem is the clip has got bent and i cant take it off to bend it back or fit a pliers in there to bend it back. its no big deal because it still holds snugly on my pocket

awesome knife

amazing work, only one problem i have found is that the thumb studs have come loose and i needed to use a vice to clamp them back to a tight fit

Quality plus great clip design!

One feature I look for when buying pocket knife is the pocket clip design(after losing a few knives). Buck nails it on this one! The "crown" sits ups high so the knife sits lower in pocket and it's more subdued so you don't have part of you knife showing out of you pocket.

Beater you can't beat

Been using this knife for four years . Chop blackberries or chop a small limb it's got what you need. And all the other chores you handle with a small knife. Try hacking off blackberries with a liner lock and you won't be doing it for long.

Great Design

One thing Buck does really well is to make a well thought-out knife for a remarkably low price. My first Buck was a 1988 Bucklite that my grandmother bought for me for peanuts, still going strong after 28 years. Last night I picked up a large orange Bucklite Max at my local hardware store that I've had my eye on for months. Thumbstud is easy to use, knife pops open with a satisfying snap. The elegant blade is every bit as long as a 110, but this knife is easy on the pocket because it is so light. The pocket clip is nicely curved and widens into a massively sturdy attachment. The color on mine is kind of a pinky-orange, I won't lose this one in the woods. Thanks for making a great product!
