Jan. 2016--Buck Knives' new products for 2016 consist of many new additions, including the new and improved Selector, Buck's interchangeable blade knife. Check out the newly released products at this year's 2016 SHOT Show, booth 14504.
In 1990, Buck Knives introduced its first interchangeable blade knife with the release of the original Selector. Although long since discontinued, the Selector became a favorite for many Buck users and many have requested that Buck bring this back to the lineup. Based on the successful Open Season hunting line, the 550 Selector 2.0 currently features three interchangeable blades including a drop point, partially serrated drop point, and a gutting blade. Each non-disposable blade is 420HC steel and heat treated by Buck's patented heat treating process, making them a quality Buck blade backed by the famous Forever Warranty. MSRP: $125. Made in the USA.
The Open Season line grew to include a guthook skinning blade. The 536 and 537 Open Season® Skinner with guthook, offered in both the Pro and Avid versions, are an ideal set to meet the needs during the season and is a great addition to the popular Open Season line of products. MSRP: $105-$145. Made in the USA.
Another guthook addition was added to the PakLite line of knives. The 141 PakLite Large Skinner was designed to be lightweight and easy to carry. MSRP: $40-45. Made in the USA.
Another new entry for hunters is the 135 PakLite® Trophy Kit, which includes the lightweight 135 PakLite caper and new 141 PakLite Large Skinner with guthook. Constructed of 420HC steel and packed in a convenient compact sheath, both knives were designed to make the task of harvesting convenient and hassle-free. The minimalist design makes the entire set extremely lightweight. MSRP: $70. Made in the USA
For those looking to maintain peak bow performance, Buck's 738 Bow TRX was designed as a multipurpose tool for the archer and is packed with all the right elements for the field. Complete with eight torx drivers, a Phillips #2 screwdriver, pair of scissors, 2" blade, a separate broadhead wrench tool, this product is perfect for adjusting draw weight, tightening stabilizers, adding accessories, broadhead tip removal and other preventative maintenance. The convenient, compact size allows for easy carry in your bow case or pack. MSRP: $50. Imported
Choices of New Everyday Knives
Additions to the everyday lineup include the new 289 Fluid, named for its quick and smooth opening ability. Featuring a mid-lockback design, 420HC steel and a 3" blade, the Fluid weighs only 2.2 ounces, making it convenient for daily carry. MSRP: $55. Made in the USA.
Originally requested by Chuck Buck for an outside picnic game at his church, the 073 Kinetic Throwing Knives were first created in 2005 but never introduced to the public. This year, after extreme testing and a couple of refinements, Buck Knives is excited to introduce this three piece throwing knife set. Specifically designed for efficient throwing, these knives feature durable 420HC steel with corrosion resistance. With an overall length of 9 7/8" and weighing 6.6 ounces, these knives are well balanced for accuracy and efficiency. The knives fit perfectly in a heavy duty leather sheath for easy transport and storage. Introduced as a collector's item, only 500 sets will be produced. MSRP: $200. Made in the USA.
Choice of New Tactical and Survival Knives
Many additions have been made to the tactical and survival line of knives, including Buck Knives' first set of spears! The Kinetic Spear Series contains three spears that can easily be lashed onto the haft. The Hunting Spear, two tine Gig Spear and the four tine Fishing Spear are each made from 420HC stain¬less steel. The Fishing Spear is designed to break down for easy transport and carry. Each spear includes polypropylene covers for safe carry and transport. MSRP: $55-$80. Made in the USA.
The Selkirk line of survival products has been expanded to include two folding versions of the popular 863 Selkirk. Named after the rugged Selkirk Mountain range beginning in the Northern Panhandle of Idaho, Selkirk is a survival knife with added features to help maximize survival in rugged and tough conditions. In addition to the 420HC steel blade, the 836 Folding Selkirk and the 835 Small Folding Selkirk feature a Micarta handle with steel bolsters. A configurable belt sheath and ferrocerium striker with whistle included with the 836 Folding Selkirk. MSRP: $50-$85. Imported
Small enough to carry during all outdoor activities, the 837 Selkirk FireStarter includes a Fire Steel with striker notch, bottle opener, straight-bit screwdriver, ¼" hex for driver bits and line tensioner. This set includes a 2 ¼" ferrocerium striker with a whistle integrated in the grip. MSRP: $25. Imported.
Originally introduced in 2014, the Marksman turned heads and gained attention with its Strong Lock System (SLS), a locking mechanism developed by Grant and Gavin Hawk that allows for one hand deployment while ensuring the durability of a fixed blade when the blade is locked open. The 831 Marksman Tanto utilizes this same locking mechanism but features an American Tanto style 154CM black oxide coated blade with a stonewash finish rather than a drop point. MSRP: $150. Made in the USA
With the success of the popular 119 Brahma, Buck is now offering a smaller version- the 117 Brahma. Featuring a beautiful stacked Leather/Micarta handle, 420HC steel with a black oxide finish blade, and a M.O.L.L.E compatible sheath, the Brahma is ideal for field and general work. MSRP: $100. Made in the USA
Additions to the Recreational Line
Designed for dependable use in the outdoors, the 418 Vertex is a lightweight, easily opened knife.
The 3" wharncliffe blade and arched back are both designed to provide strength while applying pressure on more difficult tasks. The anodized aluminum handle design reduces the weight and is available in three different popular colors. Weighing less than 2 oz., this knife is barely noticeable when out on the trail and easy to carry. Available in different handle styles. MSRP: $45. Made in the USA
Additions to the Fishing Line
After launching the Mr. Crappie Slab Slingers, Slab Shavers, and Fishpick at ICAST 2015, Buck has decided to add another new product to the fishing lineup. The Fishing Nippers feature a hook sharpener, eye popper, nippers and lure adjustment tool. The tool is titanium coated for corrosion resistance, making it great for the vest, boat, or tackle box. MSRP: $15. Imported
New Camo Choices
New camo options have also been added to some of Buck's popular models including KryptekTM TyphonTM and KryptekTM HighlanderTM. Buck Knives was the first knife company to feature the Mossy Oak® Break-Up COUNTRYTM in 2015 and will be debuting the pattern on the entire line of Bantam knives in 2016.
Other patterns include Muddy Water camo to be found on some of the Open Season and BuckLite MAX knives for avid waterfowl hunters. Finally, Muddy Girl camo was added as an option for carriers of pink and purple camo.
