Buck Knives is no stranger to the outdoors, supplying outdoorsmen and women with sports cutlery for over 110 years. This year at the 44th annual Bassmaster Classic Expo, presented by Dick's Sporting Goods, Buck Knives is proud to offer an innovative and advanced product direct to the public.
The Bassmaster Classic opens Feb. 21 and will go until Feb. 23. The expo will take place at the Birmingham-Jefferson Convention Complex (BJCC) in Birmingham, Alabama. Buck Knives has made arrangements for a large quantity of Splizzors to be available at Dick's Sporting Goods booth during this time.
"The Splizzors multi-purpose functionality can easily replace many tools in the boat," said Bob George, Director of Sales and Marketing of Buck Knives. "We are thrilled to offer this product during such a large event."
The Splizzors innovative design efficiently combines the use of scissors and pliers to create a versatile tool even for the most rugged of fishing tasks. The Splizzors use edge to edge pressure 10X that of normal scissors. The replaceable blades contain micro serrations to cut braided and high performance fishing line with ease. The stainless steel blades and frame are constructed of 420HC steel, with an overall length of 8 ½" and a total weight of only 8.3 ounces.
Out of the 55 anglers competing in the Bassmaster Classic tournament, 12 lucky anglers will be outfitted with Splizzors. Buck Knives provided Splizzors to Skeeter Products Inc., who sponsors 12 elite anglers referred to as "The Skeeter Team."
Buck also sponsors two anglers competing in the tournament-Bill Lowen and Brandon Palaniuk. Lowen was a Bassmaster qualifier in 2007-2009, and 2011-2014, and Palaniuk took 2nd place in the Bassmaster Classic. Lowen and Palaniuk, as well as a variety of experienced anglers, had a direct impact on the development and design of the Splizzors.
