Available Features and Options

420HC Steel

This is Buck's standard blade material because it approaches the wear resistance of high carbon alloys while delivering the corrosion resistance of chromium stainless steels. Add our exclusive heat-treat process and you have a very user-friendly combination of superior corrosion resistance with excellent strength for wear resistance and durability. You also have a blade that is easy to resharpen. For best performance we harden to a Rockwell hardness of Rc 58.

Gut Hook

For great performance when field dressing game, a gut or skinning hook is an ideal tool. We’ve paid careful attention to the angles on the sharpened edge, shape and size of the entry opening and location of the hook on the blade, making a Buck gut hook the best.

MY PACKLITE GUTHOOK

I HAVE THE 390 OMNI PACKLITE COMBO . THIS SET HOLDS BOTH IN THE SAME SHEATH MY PACKLITE GUTHOOK IS THE STAINLESS STEEL VERSION. I HAVE CARRIED THIS COMBO TO SQUIRRL HUNT AND ALSO DEER HUNT IN MARIETTA OHIO. THE PACKLITE GUTHOOK IS A MUST FOR ANYONE THAT IS A OUTDOORSMAN OR AVID HUNTER. I HAD THE STAINLESS STEEL PACKLITE WITH NYLON SHEATH BUT WHEN I BOUGHT MY 390 OMNI COMBO I GAVE MY STAINLESS STEEL PACKLITE WITH NYLON SHEATH TO MY COUSIN IN ZANESVILLE WHO SQUIRRL HUNTS CAUSE IT WOULD WORK GREAT FOR SQUIRRL AND HE WOULDNT HAVE TO CARRY HIS SMITH AND WESSON GUTHOOK KNIFE ALL THE TIME WITH HIM THAT WAY USING THE PCKLITE 499 WOULD BE EASIER TO CARRY WALKING THE WOODS AND NOT HAVING ALL THE WEIGHT OF A FIXED BLADE GUTHOOK WHEN THIS IS JUST THE RIGHT IDEL THING TO CARRY SQUIRRL HUNTING. HE HAS USED IT ON SQUIRRL'S SINCE I GAVE IT TO HIM IN 2012 AND HE STILL CRRIES IT HUNTING. BUCK KNIVES ARE ALL THAT I CARRY EVERYDAY ALL YEAR LONG. MY EVERYDAY KNIFE IS A 2014 BUCK 303 CADET BEFORE THAT I CARRIED MY 309 COMPANION THAT I RECIEVED IN 2000 AS A HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATION GIFT. I CARRIED MY 309 TILL 2014 WHEN I BOUGHT MY 303 CADET. I STILL HAVE THE 309 AND ORIGINAL BOX AND ALL THE PAPERS TO IT. FOR HUNTING I HAVE A 2014 BUCK 112, 2012 BUCK 110, 2012 679 MAXLITE GUTHOOK,2010 673 MAXLITE, 2014 BUCK 102 WOODSMAN, 2011 390 OMNI PACKLITE COMBO AND MY VERY FIRST BUCK A FRIEND'S 1974 110 WITH ORIGINAL SHEATH STILL. HAD A 1999 110 BRAND NEW IN 1999 AND TRADED IT TO GET MY FRIENDS 1970'S 110 AND I STILL HAVE IT TODAY I USED IT ON MY VERY FIRST DEER IN 2007 SO THIS KNIFE HAS VERY SPECIAL MEANING TO ME IT ONLY GETS CARRIED THE WEEK AFTER THANKGIVING OUR GUN SEASON FOR DEER IN OHIO AND IT STAY'S PUT AWAY THE REST OF THE TIME. I CARRY MY 2012 110 OR MY 2014 RANGER MORE THAN I DO THE OLD 1974 110. I ALSO OWN A 2014 50TH ANNIVERSARY 110 PUT UP WITH ALL MY OTHER KNIVES AND SAVED THE ORIGINAL BOX AND PAPERS TO THE 50TH ANNIVERSARY KNIFE. EVEN HAVE ALL ORIGINAL BOXES TO MY OTHER BUCK KNIVES PUT UP ONLY ONE I WISH I HAD THE ORIGINAL BOX AND PAPERS FOR WAS MY OLD 1974 110 FOLDING HUNTER . MY VERY FIRST BUCK WAS A BUCK PROTGE COMBO WITH A GREY HANDLE SMALLER ONE AND THE BLACK HANDLE BIGGER ONE THEY BOTH FIT IN THE SAME NYLON SHEATH AND WAS PURCHASED BACK IN 1998 AT OUR LOCAL SAM'S CLUB IN PARKERSBURG WEST VIRGINIA AND IF I RECALL MY DAD PAID $30.00 BACK IN 1998 FOR IT AND I STILL HAVE IT TO THIS VERY DAY. BUCK KNIVES ARE MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE BRAND OF KNIFE I HAVE NO TROUBLE KEEPING THEM RAZOR SHARP USING ANTIQUE SHARPENING EQUIP THAT MY NEIGHBOR GAVE ME IN 1997 THE SHARPENING STONES CAME FROM THE FARM HE GREW UP ON HE SAID THE STONES BELONGED TO HIS DAD AND MY NEIGHBOR'S GRANDPA THESE ARE ALL OLD ANTIQUE RAZOR HONES THAT WAS MADE IN GERMANY FROM 1900-1930 I HAVE ALL OF THEM THAT CAME FROM THE FARM HE WAS RAISED ON.
