Available Features and Options

One Handed Opening

Has a thumb stud, blade hole or other feature to facilitate one-hand use. Some models are one-hand opening and one-hand closing as well..

S30V Steel

We consider this the absolute best blade steel available, and it is made in America. S30V contains carbon as well as high amounts of Chromium, Molybdenum and Vanadium. This steel combines fantastic edge retention and high ductility combined with corrosion resistance. Double-tempered - it can be hardened to a Rockwell hardness of Rc 59.5-61. However, it is difficult to resharpen yourself, but we do offer sharpening services for a nominal fee.

SKINNER

Best suited for skinning game. The tip is narrow, while the wide curved belly gives a nice skinning sweep that aids in getting through thick layers. The downward angled, more blunt point makes it harder to make an accidental slice through the hide.

Great quality, look, and feel

I am happy to say this was my first Buck knife purchase and it didn't dissappoint! Researched and researched for a few weeks to really land on a knife that I thought would meet my expectations and this knife did. Straight out of the box you can feel the quality and durability of the folding mechanism and the weight and balance is perfect. I was a bit nervous when I ordered this knife that it would be a little large for what I was wanting but it is exactly the right size and fits perfectly in your hand without feeling like your wielding some long oversized knife. The handle is very nice beating out in my mind all those carbon fiber and plastic handles of other makers with s30v blades. I personally wanted something that was fairly classic looking and this turned out to be a great choice. I didn't want a makers name plastered all over the handle or actually part of the handle like some of the SOG knives. Overall I can't say enough good things about the knife. Going camping this weekend and I'm looking forward to having this on my side. I am not normally one to write reviews but I actually couldn't help myself on this one. I had to make positive comments and I am very happy with this product. I have to say this first purchase has turned me on to Buck knives and Im sure I'll be buying another knife from them in the future.

The Best Folder Buck Makes

Just got mine today and I am blown away. From the wood scales to the perfect low riding pocket clip this is the perfect larger folder. Thick steel liners thick liner lock big pivot the 547 has it all. The S30V blade is razor sharp and lock up is bank vault like. I love the thumb disc. Knife also features a flipper tab that when opened becomes an outstanding choil preventing your hand from sliding onto the blade. This is a heavier duty knife and is built as such. The knife has some weight to it which I like. The skeletonized liners save a touch of weight. Very nice steel stand offs. The knife is a flow through design which makes cleaning very easy. The knife also comes with one of the nicest leather Buck sheaths I have ever seen. The blade spine features some lite etching very classy. The angle of the handle really lends to heavier cutting tasks. The knife is very well weighted. I have collected knives for decades. This is the greatest Buck folder since the 110.
