Has a thumb stud, blade hole or other feature to facilitate one-hand use. Some models are one-hand opening and one-hand closing as well..
This is Buck's standard blade material because it approaches the wear resistance of high carbon alloys while delivering the corrosion resistance of chromium stainless steels. Add our exclusive heat-treat process and you have a very user-friendly combination of superior corrosion resistance with excellent strength for wear resistance and durability. You also have a blade that is easy to resharpen. For best performance we harden to a Rockwell hardness of Rc 58.
This blade is full bellied with a strong, thick point for heavier tasks. It can also be used as a general work knife. The top of the blade drops down toward the tip, which minimizes accidental puncturing while skinning. The drop point blade is strong and very versatile.
I have trouble hanging on to knives so I chose this orange version because of the colour .I have dropped it a few times and found it after retracing my steps .I have used it more as a utility knife rather than for hunting .It has kept an edge through the abuse . It has served me well for the price
I absolutely love this Knife! It is super sharp and has been fantastic when ibpve been out hunting. I recommend it and you get a lot of knife for the price!
I bought this to replace my Buck Folding Hunter for field dressing deer and small game. I wanted something with a fixed blade because I was tired of trying to clean all the goop out of the handle on my folder. This knife is great and, in my opinion, the perfect size. Small enough to clean fish, squirrel, etc but big and strong enough for field dressing whitetails. While it has its limitations, it has quickly become my first choice in most hunting situations.
