Available Features and Options

One Handed Opening

Has a thumb stud, blade hole or other feature to facilitate one-hand use. Some models are one-hand opening and one-hand closing as well..

420HC Steel

This is Buck's standard blade material because it approaches the wear resistance of high carbon alloys while delivering the corrosion resistance of chromium stainless steels. Add our exclusive heat-treat process and you have a very user-friendly combination of superior corrosion resistance with excellent strength for wear resistance and durability. You also have a blade that is easy to resharpen. For best performance we harden to a Rockwell hardness of Rc 58.

Drop Point

This blade is full bellied with a strong, thick point for heavier tasks. It can also be used as a general work knife. The top of the blade drops down toward the tip, which minimizes accidental puncturing while skinning. The drop point blade is strong and very versatile.

Serrations

Serrations give your Buck blade greater cutting power. Especially useful when cutting line and/or cables.

Good quality knife

I received this knife as a Christmas present last year and love it! The blade is very sturdy and was sharp right out of the box. The slide lock is great, can open it with one hand which is perfect for hunting. The only reason I gave this knife 4 out of 5 is because the belt clip came off in under a year of use. I wear this knife and a letherman 2-3 times a week and expected the clip to last a little longer. Overall I would still buy another just for the ease of use and quality.

Quick release failure

I bought this as a replacement to my Spyderco, which looked similar; it was stolen. The knife was shinny and orange and I feel for it. The knife was sharp as all knives should be. Held an edge, somewhat well and had a built in carabineer; the reason I bought it initially. My problem is the safety mechanism that locks the blade. I accidently dropped it and it opened, how can this be.. It has a safety quick release button. Well, it did. I thought this to be a one off issue and disregarded it. I have since dropped it 2 other times with the same results. Huh. So much for the safety quick release button. I have since stopped using it due to this failure. I cannot recommend this knife due to this factor.

overpriced junk

The screws on the clip FELL out and the pivot screw constantly loosens, quality control at Buck seems to have gone down hill, i have a bunch of buck's that just take up space because something is wrong with them, I will stick to Kershaw they know how to make a knife.
