i purchased the buck canoe for $20 as an inexpensive everyday carry pocket knife with the full knowledge that it was manufactured in China. Reviews from other websites indicated that it was good enough quality to carry the buck name. Upon receiving my purchase I was disappointed. The knife was ok, given it country of production... There were some rough edges where the scales met the metal ends. The scales are not symmetrical in their grind and the back of the handle is not as smooth as on USA made bucks. I have owned several other models of buck knives as have my family and we have always been satisfied. I would recommend this knife to anyone looking for an inexpensive edc, made in China knife.
I like the fill, smoothness and slickness when holding knife in my hand. Very reasonably priced. Will purchased another Buck, when necessary.
I have always liked canoe knives, I have a number of different brands. I stopped carrying my Case canoe it would cost to much to replace. This is my 2nd Buck canoe ( 1st one is at the bottom of Lake Erie) the Bucks hold a good edge, fit and finish are good and won't wear a hole in your pocket because of rounded ends. The only change I would like is to be USA made.
This is an excellent knife. It has a little bit of heft, and is very sturdy. Both blades function superbly. The contours are great and I would happily purchase another one in the future. It is what a pocket knife should be.
I've been using mine daily for the past 2 years for daily tasks. Holds up great and sharpens easily. I would gladly recommend it.
